DIY CRAFTING WITH CHILDREN

One of my favourite things to do is craft. And doing it with children is such fun! Below are the instructions for an Easy Peasy Christmas Wreath.

Christmas Wreath DIY

You wil need:

String

Sticks (found on gorund)

Elastic Bands

Leaves (I picked native leaves)

  1. Forage for leaves and sticks (I collected about 3-4 sticks)

  2. Connect the sticks with the string in a shape you like. I have made mine into a triangle.

    Make sure it’s really secure.

  3. Place the leaves where you would like them.

  4. Cut up a few Elastic Bands and use these to tie on your leaves

    And Viola!

I just love these Rainbow Love Hearts! So easy and they look so FUN!!

What you’ll need

5 A3 cardboard sheets of red, orange, yellow, green and blue

Stapler and staples

Scissors

  1. Cut the Red card first, at 5cm in width and the length of the A3 sheet

  2. I measure this first strip on to the orange card and cut about 10cm down of the top

  3. Do this for all the colours with blue being the last strip of card

  4. Now you have all your coloured strips (make sure to cut out double of each colour)

  5. Join the two ends of the blue strip (the smallest strip) hold in place and wrap the green strip around blue one, then wrap the yellow strip around the green one, then wrap the orange strip around the yellow and lastly wrap the red strip around the orange one [See image above]

  6. Staple the strips together at the bottom. you should end up with a hot air balloon shape.

  7. And now to do this again. You now should have tow Hot Air balloon shapes

  8. Now join them together. Use a strip of card again and place it in between the shapes.

  9. Staple the shapes to the strip of card to make a love heart shape

  10. And Viola - you have a rainbow love heart!
